Description of this Vintage Pulp Fiction Poster

Tarantino wrote Pulp Fiction in 1992 and 1993, incorporating scenes that Avary had originally written for True Romance (1993)[citation needed]. The plot does not unfold in chronological order. The film is also self-referential from its opening moments, beginning with a title card that gives two dictionary definitions for the word "pulp." Considerable screen time is devoted to monologues and casual conversations, with eclectic dialogue revealing each character's perspective on several topics, and the film features a wry combination of humor and heavy violence. . TriStar Pictures reportedly rejected the script, deeming it "too crazy." Miramax co-chairman Harvey Weinstein was enthusiastic, however, and the film became the first that Miramax fully financed.
