Description of this Vintage La Baule Poster
Dating from 1931, this retro advertising poster for the Paris-Orléans railways highlights the city of La Baule. Created by the illustrator ALO who was a worshiper of Brittany, he created an ambitious creation given that he reduced the city to a simple “horizon”. Instead, he prefers to highlight a splendid sailboat which occupies the entire height of this advertising visual . We can thus imagine a regatta on this capricious sea. Note also that in this advertising image , the water is painted blue, which ALO has very rarely done. Despite everything, we find its particularity: the use of a strong ocher in the color of the sky. In any case, this magnificent vintage poster will take you on a journey across the ocean, while being an excellent decorative object for the wall decoration of your interior .
