Meaning of this Vintage Lu Advertising Sign

Originally from 1897, this vintage metal plaque highlights Lu 's famous mascot: the Little Schoolboy. His attire (beret and cape) is a very illustrative example of the typical outfit of a schoolboy at the beginning of the 20th century. Also note the “ Lefèvre-Utile ” representing the name of the founders of the brand (hence the initials of LU). In the background, the Little Schoolboy tenderly tastes the famous petit Beurre de Nantes.
