Description of this Destroy This Mad Brute Propaganda Poster
It is directly inspired by the work "A Gorilla kidnapping a woman" (1887) by Emmanuel Frémiet and represents the German enemy in the guise of a gorilla equipped with a Prussian spiked helmet indicating "Militarism" and possessing blond mustaches, directly referring to Kaiser Wilhelm II. He is also armed with a club inscribed "Kultur", and holds a naked woman in his other hand. In the background, we see a completely destroyed Europe where we can see the ruins of Reims Cathedral. The gorilla then prepares to land in America, where we also see "America" under his paws.
