Description of this Wing Or Thigh Poster
"The Wing or the Thigh" is a 1976 French cult film directed by Claude Zidi and starring comic actor Louis de Funès in the title role. This satirical comedy is a hilarious critique of French culinary culture and its obsession with gastronomy.
In this film, Louis de Funès plays Charles Duchemin, a famous food critic who is faced with a dilemma when he learns that his son, Gérard Duchemin, wants to give up his job as a food critic to become a clown. Charles, who is also the owner of one of the best restaurants in France, must then find a successor capable of perpetuating the culinary art of the Duchemin family.
In the middle of this intrigue, the film features many colorful characters, such as Tricatel, an unscrupulous businessman who sells industrial food, or Marguerite, Charles's wife, who wishes that her husband takes into account the tastes of the general public to increase the popularity of his restaurant.
The film is peppered with comic scenes and hilarious gags that have marked the history of French cinema, such as the famous scene where Louis de Funès fights lobsters or the one where he tastes a wine and instantly spits it out.
