Description of this Chaplin Circus Poster
The film shows the character of Charlot pursued by a police officer who mistakes him for a pickpocket. While he plunges into a circus tent to try to escape, the owners take him on the run for part of a circus act. Seeing the potential profits, Charlot is hired by the circus, but it quickly becomes clear that he cannot be funny on purpose, but only spontaneously.
At each performance, due to his clumsiness, he triggers hilarity from the audience and becomes the star of the show. Charlot falls in love with Merna, the daughter of the circus director, but she prefers Rex, the tightrope walker. Charlot will be able to accept this decision and contribute to their union before leaving the circus.
