Description of this Rocky IV Poster
Rocky IV - The Battle of the Century is a 1985 American film and the fourth part of the Rocky feature film series. Sylvester Stallone wrote the screenplay, directed it and starred in the lead role at the same time. In late 2021, a director's cut of the film will be released under the title Rocky IV: Rocky vs. Rocky. Drago, which Sylvester Stallone did.
After his friend and former opponent, boxer Apollo Creed, is fatally injured by Soviet boxer Ivan Drago during a show fight, Rocky Balboa seeks revenge and engages in a rematch in Moscow. In order to compete with Ivan Drago, he retreats to a wooden cabin in Siberia and trains in the frozen desert.
After winning the title fight, Rocky Balboa is once again the world boxing champion and enjoys his popularity and wealth. Rocky, his family and Rocky's friend and former adversary Apollo Creed celebrate Rocky's brother-in-law Paulie's birthday.
But then a Soviet delegation appears in the United States with Russian boxer Ivan Drago to complete a fight against the world champion because "a victory over the world champion of the United States is a good thing for the Soviet Union." Drago, a silent giant with a body length exceeding 2 m, is a "fighting machine" filled with muscles. Nicoli Koloff, the head of the delegation, demonstrates in a test that Drago's fist breaks everything that hits it.
Rocky agrees to the fight, but then lets Apollo Creed persuade him to fight the show instead of Rocky. On the one hand, Rocky owes him a favor because Creed trained him for the rematch against Clubber Lang. As an "aging star", Creed also wants to enjoy the feeling of being in the boxing ring. Rocky gives in despite his concerns. But the exhibition fight ends fatally for Creed, because he has no chance against Drago's strength: after several difficult blows to the head, Creed goes down and still dies in the ring. Drago tersely comments on his death with "When he's dead, he's dead!". Rocky gives the funeral speech at Creed's funeral.
Rocky wants to avenge Creed and beyond the world and also show that Drago is not invincible. So he agrees to start another boxing match, although it will be done in Moscow and on the Russians' terms. Supervised by Duke, he underwent extensive training with traditional methods in a mountain cabin in the snowy mountains of Russia, while Drago is trained and doped using the latest methods.
On fight day, Rocky Balboa hits a wave of hatred in the sold-out arena. But the mood changes with every turn Rocky goes through and with every other move he ends up with Drago. A tough fight breaks out in which both boxers fight until they are completely abandoned and at full risk. In the second round, Rocky manages to impress his opponent with hard blows, and he can hardly meet Drago in the sixth and eighth rounds. All the others in the first nine rounds are clearly to his detriment, and above all he can barely save himself during the break. The fight is balanced from the tenth round. After the fourteenth round, the beating Drago is insulted by Koloff and demanded to win, after which Drago Koloff pushes out of the ring and roars, fighting to win. Rocky actually does it in the fifteenth and final round: he defeats the Russian fighter by knockout. and wins the hearts of the Russian spectators who cheer him on and celebrate like the winner.
