Description of this Peter Pan Disney Poster
Peter Pan is a 1953 American animated film, produced by Walt Disney Productions and distributed by RKO Radio Pictures. Based on JM Barrie's 1904 play Peter Pan, or the Boy Who Wouldn't Grow Up, it is Disney's 14th animated film. The film was directed by Hamilton Luske, Clyde Geronimi and Wilfred Jackson. Featuring the voices of Bobby Driscoll, Kathryn Beaumont, Hans Conried and Bill Thompson, the film's plot follows Wendy Darling and her two brothers, who meet Peter Pan, the boy who never grows up, and travel with him to the island of Neverland to stay young, where they must also face Peter's nemesis, Captain Hook.
The film was entered into the 1953 Cannes Film Festival[2] and was released on February 5, 1953 by Disney. Peter Pan was the last Disney animated film released by RKO before Walt Disney founded his own distribution company, as well as the last Disney film in which all nine members of Disney's Nine Old Men worked together as animators directors.
A sequel, titled Return to Neverland, was released in 2002, and a series of DVD prequels about Tinker Bell began in 2008. A live-action adaptation of the film is planned for Disney+ in 2023.
