Description of this Rocky 4 Movie Poster

Rocky IV is a 1985 American drama film, the fourth in the Rocky franchise. It is the largest increase in the Rocky Balboa film series and, also, the most propagandistic in the context of the Cold War, a global conflict that pitted the United States of America and the Soviet Union against a colossal historical confrontation at the time of the technological development of civilization.

The story follows Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone), who plans to retire from boxing after regaining his title against Clubber Lang in Rocky III. However, the Soviet Union's new revelation, Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren), begins to emerge as the strongest candidate to challenge for the title.

The film has the special participation of James Brown.

The movie begins where Rocky III ends, when Rocky manages to beat Clubber Lang in the revenge fight and in Mickey's gym, Rocky keeps his word to have a practice fight with Apollo Creed. A few hours after the fight, Rocky is late for his house to celebrate Paulie's birthday and they give him a robot as a gift, later Rocky celebrates his first wedding anniversary with Adrianne and gives her a watch.

Meanwhile, Iván Drago, a muscular Soviet boxer measuring 1.96 m and 118 kg, arrives in the United States with his wife Ludmilla, and a team of trainers from the Soviet Union and Cuba. His trainer Nicolai Koloff took every opportunity to promote Drago's athletic prowess as a sign of Soviet superiority. Rocky shows no interest in engaging in combat with the Soviets, but motivated by patriotism and an innate desire to prove himself, Apollo Creed challenges Drago to an exhibition fight. Rocky is against Apollo's decision as he has been retired from boxing for five years and is without competitive rhythm, although this is all due to Apollo as he was not young and vigorous like before and feared being forgotten by people.

This is why during the press conference about the fight, the hostility between Apollo and Drago is released, especially when Ludmilla points out Apollo's age which angers him. The exhibition takes place at the MGM Grand Hotel in Las Vegas. Apollo returns to the ring with an overly patriotic entrance with James Brown singing Living in America (Spanish: Living in America) with dancers included. After the referee gave the rules to indicate, Apollo did the gauntlet salute with Drago roughly, but when he felt the firmness of his arms hitting them, he was perplexed.

The fight starts calmly with Apollo showing off his good leggings and punches which don't seem to affect the Soviet. But he quickly turns serious when Draco begins to respond with devastating effect to his punches. At the end of the first round, Rocky and Apollo's coach Duke asks him to give up, but Apollo, despite the beating he receives from the Soviets, refuses to do so and tells Rocky not to stop the fight. . Drago continues to beat him in the second round, and despite Duke asking him to throw in the towel, Rocky reluctantly honors Apollo's wish. Finally, Drago throws a precise blow that causes Apollo to fall to the ground and convulse.1 After the fight, Drago is declared the winner despite the event. And while Drago shows an absence of remorse commenting to the media, "It's useless...he's dead", you see Apollo lying dead in Rocky's arms. During Apollo's funeral, Rocky decides to leave the world championship belt on the flowers, saying that Apollo will remain the best.

Enraged by Drago's coldness and feeling deep guilt, Rocky decides to avenge Apollo's death as athletes do, in the ring, agreeing to fight Drago in the USSR on Christmas Day in a fifteen round non-title fight. in the game. He travels to the Soviet Union without Adrianne, preparing his training base in Krasnogorsk along with Duke and his brother-in-law Paulie. To prepare for battle, Drago uses high-tech equipment, steroid injection, and a team of trainers and doctors monitoring his every move. Rocky on the other side, lifting huge logs, cutting trees, pulling an overloaded sled, jogging through heavy snowfall in dangerous cold conditions and climbing mountains. Adrian unexpectedly arrives to support Rocky after initially refusing to travel with him due to his fears that he would end up killed as Apollo. His presence increases Rocky's concentration and improves his training.

Drago is introduced with an elaborate, patriotic ceremony where the anthem of the Soviet Union blares, causing the crowd to fully support Drago and against Rocky.2 Unlike his fight with Apollo, Drago immediately goes on the offensive and Rocky takes a heavy beat. Rocky recovers towards the end of the second round; A right hook causes a cut under Drago's left eye that silences the audience and causes Rocky to continue hitting Drago even after the bell. As Duke and Paulie applaud Rocky for his heroism, they remind him that Drago is not a machine, but a man. Ironically, Drago comments that Rocky "isn't human, he's like a block of iron" with his own team berating him for being "weak" compared to "the little American". At this point, Drago begins to realizing that Rocky is stronger than he thought.

The two boxers continue their battle in the next few rounds, with Rocky maintaining his position despite Drago's powerful fists. His resistance causes the previously hostile Soviet audience to begin supporting him, which annoys Drago to the point that he pushes Koloff out of the ring for putting him down for his performance in the fight. Rocky finally finishes Drago in the final round, winning by knockout to the surprise of the members of the Soviet politburo watching the fight.3 A bloody and tired Rocky gives a victory speech, recognizing how public disdain has become respect. He compares it to the animosity between the Soviets and the Americans, saying that seeing him and Drago's fight was "better than 20 million", implying a war between the two countries. Rocky finally declares: "If I can change, you can change, then everyone can change!". The Soviet General Secretary stands up and applauds Rocky, and the others do the same. Rocky ends his speech by wishing his son a Merry Christmas and throws his arms in the air in victory as the audience applauds.
