Description of this Bambi Movie Poster
The children's film Bambi, released in 1942, is the fifth animated feature film from Walt Disney Studios. It is based on the book Bambi, published in 1923. A story of life in the forest by the Austrian writer of Hungarian origin Felix Salten.
In a forest, a small white-tailed deer or mule deer named Bambi is born. The news spreads quickly in the forest and all the animals gather to welcome the little one, who at first seems a little fearful and unsteady on his feet. Shortly after, during an excursion with his mother, Bambi meets his two new friends: the cheeky rabbit Klopfer and the shy skunk Blume. Together, they initially experience a happy and carefree childhood. In a meadow, he meets his friend Feline, but also the danger posed by men, who always hovers like a dark threat over the lives of animals. Summer and fall fly by, Bambi grows and learns more and more. In winter, his until then relatively carefree childhood comes to an abrupt end: He loses his mother to a hunter's bullets. His father, the great prince of the forest, takes care of the little orphan.
Years later, Bambi has grown into an imposing young deer. When he sees Feline again, his childhood friend, in addition to Klopfer and Blume, they fall in love. But as another deer also covets Feline, a dramatic fight begins against the rival. Bambi has the upper hand and can thus win Feline for him. The two now live happily together.
Early one morning, Bambi wakes up, awakened by smoke from the campfire, and goes to investigate. On a cliff that offers a clear view of the valley, he meets his father who warns him that the hunters are returning to the forest in large numbers and that they must retreat deep into the forest. In the valley, the column of smoke from a hunters' campfire rises. Both are preparing to flee when Bambi remembers that he must warn Féline, who is still asleep. But in the meantime, Féline woke up and started looking for Bambi. Both narrowly miss each other when Bambi finds his nightly resting place. The first shots ring out in the forest and panic seizes the animals. Meanwhile, Feline is spotted and chased by a pack of hunting dogs. She manages at the last minute to escape onto a cliff. Meanwhile, sparks from the unattended campfire set the entire forest on fire at breakneck speed. Bambi hears Feline's cries for help and rushes to her rescue. Courageously, he attacks the pack of dogs and manages to keep them at bay for a short time thanks to blows with his wood and hooves. Feline manages to escape. Bambi also manages to narrowly escape the pack of dogs. He escapes by jumping over a large chasm before the remaining dogs can follow his trail again, but is shot in mid-jump. Half unconscious, he crashes on the other side of the precipice. In the meantime, the forest fire spread and the sky turned bright red. Bambi lies on the ground, listless and in pain, when his father appears and sternly asks him to get up and pull himself together.
Still dazed, Bambi finally gets back on his feet. With his father, he fled the fire by crossing a river. Both courageously throw themselves from the top of a waterfall to escape the fire. During this time, many animals were able to escape to a small group of islands. Feline also stands on the bank and desperately searches for Bambi. Emerging from the smoke and fog, Bambi and his father finally swim to the archipelago. Feline snuggles affectionately against Bambi. Both are saved and reunited.
A year later, the emerging spring has already covered much of the damage caused by the forest fire, when one early morning, a new arrival causes a stir in the forest: Feline has become a mother. All the animals, including Klopfer and Blume, who have now become fathers themselves, rush to the young mother's house. There, another happy surprise awaits them: Feline has given birth to twins. The camera moves from the happy mother to a high cliff on which Bambi and his father are standing. They exchange understanding looks, then Bambi's father withdraws. His mission is accomplished. Bambi bows his head briefly, sad at his father's departure, but immediately raises it and now sits enthroned, standing in the light of sunrise, proud and happy over his kingdom. He is now the prince of the forest. Slowly, the camera leaves this last scene of the film.
