Description of this Cartridge Poster
"Cartouche" is a French adventure film directed by Philippe de Broca and released in 1962. The film takes place in 18th century France, in an era where the rich are increasingly corrupt and oppress the poor people. In this context, Cartouche, a charismatic and rebellious brigand, stands up against these injustices and defends the oppressed.
The film opens with a burglary scene, where Cartouche, played by Jean-Paul Belmondo, meets Vénus, a beautiful gypsy played by Claudia Cardinale. The two fall in love and decide to work together to rob the rich and distribute their loot to the poor. But their rebellion attracts the attention of the police, led by Lieutenant General La Reynie, played by Jean Rochefort, who launches a merciless manhunt to stop them.
As the story progresses, Cartouche and his accomplices must face many obstacles and enemies, but they continue to fight for justice and freedom. The action scenes are numerous and epic, especially the chases.
