Description of this Poster A Night in Hell
One Night in Hell is a 1996 American action horror film directed by Robert Rodriguez and written by Quentin Tarantino based on a concept and story by Robert Kurtzman. [Starring Harvey Keitel, George Clooney, Quentin Tarantino, Ernest Liu and Juliette Lewis, the plot follows two American criminal brothers (Clooney and Tarantino) who take a family hostage (Keitel, Liu and Lewis) in order to cross into Mexico, but who ultimately find themselves trapped in a saloon frequented by vampires.
The film was released on January 17, 1996, and received mixed reception from critics, who described it as a well-made but overly violent film. After achieving financial success at the box office, Une Nuit En Enfer became a cult film and spawned a media franchise consisting of sequels, a video game and other media adaptations.
Brothers Seth and Richie Gecko, bank robbers on the run, rob a liquor store, killing clerk Pete Bottoms and Texas Ranger Earl McGraw in a shootout. As they leave, they inadvertently destroy the building. In the hostel room where they are hiding, Seth returns to get some food only to discover that Richie has raped and murdered a bank employee they had taken hostage, much to his anger.
Jacob Fuller, a pastor experiencing a crisis of faith following the death of his wife, is on vacation with his teenage children Scott and Kate in their RV. They stop at the inn and are kidnapped by the Gecko brothers, who force the Fuller family to smuggle themselves across the Mexican border. In Mexico, they arrive at the Titty Twister, a strip club in the desert, where the Gecko brothers will be greeted by their contact, Carlos, at dawn. Carlos will escort them to the sanctuary of "El Rey", a safe place for fugitives whose entry fee is 30% of everything they own. When Richie complains to Seth that this amount is too high, Seth tells him that it is non-negotiable.
During a bar fight, the employees turn out to be vampires and kill most of the customers. Richie is bitten by a stripper, Santanico Pandemonium, and dies, but Seth manages to kill her by shooting a chandelier above her which impales her. Only Seth, Jacob, Kate, Scott, a biker named Sex Machine, and Frost, a Vietnam War veteran, survive. The others are reborn as vampires, including Richie, forcing the survivors to kill them all. When an army of vampires, in bat form, gathers outside, the survivors lock themselves inside, but Sex Machine is bitten, becomes a vampire, and bites Frost and Jacob. Frost throws Sex Machine through the door, allowing the vampires in while Frost transforms into a vampire.
Seth, Kate and Scott flee to a reservation, closely followed by an injured but still alive Jacob, brandishing a shotgun. On the reservation, they craft weapons from the truckloads the vampires have looted from their past victims, including a stake mounted on a jackhammer, a crossbow, and holy water, which requires Jacob to regain his faith to bless her. Knowing that he will soon become a vampire, Jacob makes Scott and Kate promise to kill him when he transforms.
The group launches their final assault against the undead. Sex Machine transforms into a large rat-like creature and attacks Seth, but he is killed. Jacob becomes a vampire, but Scott is reluctant to kill him, allowing Jacob to bite him. Scott kills him, but he is then overwhelmed by vampires who begin to devour him; he begs for death and Kate kills him. As the vampires surround Kate and Seth, jets of morning light enter through bullet holes in the building, causing the vampires to retreat. Carlos arrives and his bodyguards blow down the door, letting in sunlight that kills the vampires.
Seth criticizes Carlos for choosing his meeting place poorly and negotiates a lower sum for his entry to El Rey. Kate asks Seth if he wants her to accompany him to El Rey, but he refuses, apparently worried for her safety, and leaves her with some money. Kate leaves in an RV, leaving behind the Titty Twister, which turns out to be the top of a partially buried eight-tiered Aztec temple.
