Description of this Oscar Film Poster
"Oscar" is a 1967 French comedy film directed by Edouard Molinaro, starring the famous French actor Louis de Funès. The story takes place in the 1920s, in Paris, where Louis de Funès plays Bertrand Barnier, a businessman who runs a funeral home.
Bertrand is a rich and respected man, but he has a secret that he does not want others to discover: he is in love with his mistress, the pretty Colette, played by Claude Gensac. While preparing an arranged marriage with the daughter of an industrialist, Bertrand must face an unexpected event: the police think he is involved in drug trafficking.
Bertrand then finds himself in a desperate situation, trying to save his business, his marriage and his reputation, while trying to hide his romantic relationship with Colette. That's when the improbable happens: a gangster named Monsieur Grimp, played by French actor Michel Galabru, kidnaps Bertrand and forces him to hide loot worth several million francs in his funeral home business.
The film "Oscar" is a joyful mix of comic situations, unexpected twists and brilliant acting performances. Louis de Funès is at his best, delivering a comic performance full of verve and energy, while Claude Gensac brings a touch of charm and humor as Bertrand's mistress. The film is a must-have in French comedy and a celebration of the talent of an iconic actor.
