Description of this Metal Macaron Plate
A macaron is a sweet meringue-based confection made with egg white, icing sugar, granulated sugar, almond flour and food coloring.
The macaron is traditionally considered to have been introduced to France by Queen Catherine de' Medici's Italian chef during the Renaissance. Since the 19th century, the typical Parisian macaron has been presented with ganache, buttercream or jam between two such biscuits, like a sandwich. The confection is characterized by a square, smooth top, a ruffled rim – called a “crown” or “foot” – and a flat base. It is slightly moist and melts easily in your mouth. Macarons can be found in a wide variety of flavors, ranging from the traditional (raspberry, chocolate) to the unusual (foie gras, matcha).
