Description of this Friday the 13th Poster

Friday the 13th Chapter VI: Jason the Walking Dead is a 1986 American horror film written and directed by Tom McLoughlin, starring Thom Mathews, Jennifer Cooke, David Kagen and CJ Graham. It is the sixth installment in the Friday the 13th franchise and the last to feature Tommy Jarvis (Mathews). Continuing the events of Friday the 13th: A New Terror, the plot follows Tommy after he accidentally resurrects murderer Jason Voorhees (Graham) while trying to destroy his body to ensure he does not return. As Jason returns to Crystal Lake for a new series of murders, Tommy must overcome his fear of the masked killer that has haunted him for years, and find a way to stop him once and for all.

The original script called for Tommy Jarvis to become the new antagonist of the series, but after the poor reception given by fans to A New Beginning, the producers preferred to bring back Jason Voorhees. By resurrecting Jason, McLoughlin made him an explicitly supernatural force for the first time in the series. This version of Jason, an undead and more powerful Superman, would become the standard depiction for the rest of the series. The film also introduced elements of metahumor, gothic horror, and action film to the series, including shootouts and car chases.

Jason Lives was the first in the series to receive positive reception from critics since the original. In the years since its release, its self-referential humor and numerous instances of breaking the fourth wall have been hailed as foreshadowing Kevin Williamson's Scream series Jason Lives is considered a fan favorite of the series, in more than receiving a positive opinion from horror film historians It grossed $19.4 million at the American box office for a budget of $3 million. The film was followed by Friday the 13th Chapter VII: A New Challenge in 1988.

Some time after the events of the last film, Tommy Jarvis is released from the local mental hospital, although he still has hallucinations of serial killer Jason Voorhees, whom he killed in the fourth installment. He returns to Crystal Lake, renamed Forest Green, to face his fears, alongside his friend Allen Hawes. The duo visit Jason's grave during a thunderstorm, hoping to cremate the killer's body and finally put an end to Tommy's nightmares. After digging up Jason's corpse, Tommy has flashbacks of his last encounter with Jason. As he furiously impales Jason's body with a metal fence post, two lightning bolts strike the post, turning Jason into a wight with superhuman strength. After killing Hawes, Jason puts on his hockey mask (which Tommy brought with him). Tommy takes refuge in the sheriff's office, where he attempts to warn the police of Jason's return, but is arrested and imprisoned by Sheriff Mike Garris, who is aware of Tommy's institutionalization. Sheriff Garris assumes that Tommy is hallucinating Jason's return. On the road, instructors Darren Robinson and Lizabeth Mott get lost while looking for Forest Green camp. They discover Jason, who murders them both.

The next morning, Garris' daughter Megan, a wild blonde, arrives at the police station with her friends Sissy Baker, Cort Andrews and Paula Mott. The four teenagers report the disappearance of Darren and Lizabeth. Tommy warns them about Jason, who is now considered an urban legend. Megan doesn't know whether to believe Tommy, although she feels attracted to him. In the woods, Jason accidentally discovers a paintball game organized by a company; he decapitates three players, crushes the face of a fourth in a tree and dismembers the fifth. He also requisitions a machete from the players.

As the kids arrive at Camp Forest Green, the teen counselors do their best to run the camp, all while wondering what happened to Darren and Lizabeth. Meanwhile, Sheriff Garris opts to transfer Tommy out of his jurisdiction, due to Tommy's influence on Megan. While leaving town, Tommy rushes to Jason's grave, which the caretaker has covered up to deny his responsibility for stealing the grave. Hawes' body is buried in Jason's place. Tommy, handcuffed, is escorted out of town by the sheriff, who warns him never to return. That night, Jason massacres the janitor, as well as a neighboring couple who happen to witness the murder. Meanwhile, Cort meets a girl named Nicola Parsley. As the teenage couple kiss, Jason kills them both. When the sheriff's men find the bodies of Nicola and Cort, Garris quickly implicates Tommy in the double murder, convinced that Tommy's "delusions" about Jason have driven him crazy.

Tommy contacts Megan to help him lure Jason to Crystal Lake. She accepts. Meanwhile, Jason goes to camp. He kills Sissy and Paula but refrains from harming the children. Elsewhere, Tommy and Megan are arrested by Sheriff Garris. Although his daughter points out that Tommy was with her for the last few hours and therefore could not have killed Cort and Nicola, the sheriff locks Tommy up anyway, telling Megan that he will decide his fate later. . Garris and two of his deputies then go to the camp to arrest Tommy's "other accomplice" (non-existent); instead, all three lawmen are killed by Jason. Megan breaks Tommy out of prison and they rush back to the camp.

Jason is about to kill Megan when Tommy calls him from a boat on the lake. Remembering his killer, Jason attacks Tommy. Tommy chains a rock around Jason's neck, trapping him underwater, but Jason wrecks the boat and drags it below the lake's surface. When Megan dives to save Tommy, Jason grabs her leg and she destroys the monster with the boat's outboard motor. Megan swims Tommy back to shore and revives him with CPR. Tommy says Jason is finally home.

Jason is shown to still be alive - although anchored to the bottom of the lake - waiting for another opportunity to return.
