Description of this The Marginal Poster
"Le Marginal" is a French crime film directed by Jacques Deray, released in 1983. The film stars Jean-Paul Belmondo as Philippe Jordan, an experienced French police officer tasked with fighting drug traffickers in France.
The story begins with the arrest of two drug dealers by Jordan and his French police team. However, he soon discovers that one of the dealers is a high-level informant for the drug ring and is released by law enforcement.
Jordan then decides to take matters into his own hands and begins a secret investigation to dismantle the drug ring. He poses as a criminal and comes into contact with members of the network. During the investigation, he discovers evidence linking French politicians to drug traffickers.
Tensions rise when the head of the network discovers Jordan's true identity. He then sends his men to kill him. Jordan manages to escape the assassination attempt and continues his investigation. He eventually arrested everyone in the drug ring and the politicians involved, using evidence he had collected throughout his investigation.
The film is a mixture of action, drama and suspense. Belmondo delivers a stunning performance as a tough-as-nails loner cop who will do anything to dismantle the drug ring. The film's music, composed by Ennio Morricone, adds to the dark and suspenseful atmosphere of the film.
“Le Marginal” is a classic of French cinema, which enjoyed great success when it was released in theaters. It is considered one of the best films by Jacques Deray and Jean-Paul Belmondo, and remains a must-have in the detective genre.
