Description of this Cop Or Thug Poster
"Flic ou Voyou" is a French crime film directed by Georges Lautner and released in 1979. The film stars Jean-Paul Belmondo as Stanislas Borowitz, an incorruptible police inspector who poses as a thug in order to dismantle a gang of drug traffickers.
The story begins with the arrest of a major drug trafficker, Pépé le Moko. However, the latter was quickly released thanks to the corruption of the authorities. Stanislas Borowitz then decides to take matters into his own hands and pretend to be a criminal in order to infiltrate Pépé le Moko's network and dismantle it from the inside.
Stanislas Borowitz therefore becomes Jo Ricci, a ruthless and unscrupulous thug. He becomes friends with Lino, a gangster played by Michel Galabru, and succeeds in gaining the trust of Pépé le Moko. However, things become complicated when Stanislas falls in love with Pépé's daughter, Nadine, played by Marie Laforêt.
Between action, suspense and humor, the film offers us a thrilling plot with unexpected twists and turns. The crafted dialogues and colorful characters give the film an atmosphere that is both light and dark, typical of Lautner's films. The performance of Jean-Paul Belmondo, who brilliantly plays the role of Jo Ricci, is also one of the strong points of the film.
“Flic ou Voyou” is therefore a classic of French detective cinema, which enjoyed great success when it was released in theaters. The film made an impression thanks to its gripping plot and its offbeat humor, but also thanks to its spectacular action scenes and its unforgettable characters.
