Description of this Brigitte Bardot Poster
In 1940, Babette, a young woman from the provinces, went to London where Lieutenant Gérard de Crécy recruited her as a cleaning lady at the Headquarters of Free France. Major Fitzpatrick, a British intelligence officer, notices her striking resemblance to Hilda, the former mistress of General von Arenberg, the German responsible for the landings in England. After intensive training, Babette parachuted into France with Gérard with the aim of kidnapping the general. However, after the parachute drop, not being able to find her dear lieutenant, she decides to take the train to Paris alone.
After a series of adventures, Babette is arrested in a Parisian café by "papa Schulz", the head of the Gestapo, who takes her to the Kommandantur, the headquarters of the German occupying forces in Paris. Schulz, also struck by Babette's extraordinary resemblance to General von Arenberg's ex-mistress, organizes a chance meeting between the young Frenchwoman and the general. His goal is for Babette to enter the general's private life and to be able to provide information to the Gestapo about his activities, because Schulz suspects Arenberg of betraying the Nazi cause. The general immediately succumbs to the charm of the double of his former mistress and brings Babette back to her supposed parents, the Duke and Duchess of Crécy-Lozère, located in the seventh arrondissement of Paris, who are in reality Gérard's parents. There, Babette finds Gérard and makes him understand that this is the perfect opportunity to kidnap Arenberg and bring him back to London... however, Gestapo agents, acting on the orders of Commander Schulz, have followed them.
