Description of this Black Swan Poster

Black Swan (known as El cisne negro in Spanish and Cisne negro in English) is a 2010 American psychological thriller and horror film directed by Darren Aronofsky. It stars Natalie Portman, Vincent Cassel, Mila Kunis, Barbara Hershey and Winona Ryder. Natalie Portman won the Academy Award, Golden Globe and Screenwriters and Critics Association of America Award for her performance in the film. Additionally, the film received BAFTA, Golden Globe and Academy Award nominations for Best Picture.

Aronofsky conceived the screenplay by combining his vision of Swan Lake with a truncated script using replacement actors and the notion of being stalked by a stunt double. The director also considered Black Swan a companion piece to his previous film The Wrestler, with both films wrapped in accomplished interpretations of different types of art. He and Portman first discussed the project in 2000 and, after a short engagement with Universal Pictures, Black Swan was produced in New York in 2009 under the Fox Searchlight Pictures umbrella. Portman and Kunis trained in ballet for months. Leading figures from the dance world helped the production develop the ballet's presentation. The film was presented as the opening of the 67th edition of the Venice International Film Festival on September 1, 2010. It had a limited release on December 1, 2010.

Nina Sayers (Natalie Portman) is a young, introverted dancer at a prestigious New York ballet company. She lives with her mother, Erica (Barbara Hershey), who is an ex-dancer and who consents to her and treats her like a daughter. The company is preparing to open the season with Swan Lake. Director Thomas Leroy (Vincent Cassel) must choose a new principal dancer after forcing Beth Macintyre (Winona Ryder) to retire. Thomas wants the same dancer to portray both the innocent, fragile white swan and the dark sensual twin, the black swan. Nina auditions for the part, performing the White Swan perfectly, but is not entirely able to emulate the Black Swan's characteristics. Although Nina does not do well in her audition, she approaches Thomas and asks him to reconsider her for the lead role. He tells her that she is the ideal dancer to perform the White Swan, but she lacks the passion to properly portray the Black Swan.

Nina reluctantly accepts this and decides to leave when Thomas stops her and scolds her for giving up too easily. Although she praises her technique, she criticizes her mechanical performance, saying that she has not seen her go wrong once. Nina says she wants to be perfect, to which Thomas responds by saying that perfection isn't about control, it's about "letting go." When Thomas forcibly kisses Nina, who shows a character change and bites her, he convinces himself to give her the role of Swan Queen Beth, drunk, angrily confronts Thomas and Nina Later, she is hit by a car and is seriously injured, which Thomas suspects of. being a suicide attempt. Thomas, for his part, becomes increasingly critical of his "frigid" dancing and advises him to stop being a perfectionist and losing himself on paper. sets the example for Lily (Mila Kunis), a dancer new to the company, whom she describes as lacking Nina's impeccable technique, but who has an uninhibited quality that Nina did not demonstrate. The relationship between the two dancers is strained due to Lily's indiscretions. One night, Lily appears at Nina's apartment to invite her. Nina is hesitant at first, but as she is determined to rebel against her mother, she goes out with Lily.

At a bar that evening, Lily offers Nina an ecstasy capsule to help her relax. Although he assures that its effects only last a few hours, Nina rejects him. Lily then slips the capsule into her drink while she is away, Nina sees it, but decides to drink anyway. Nina comes home late, fights with her mother, locks her bedroom door and kisses Lily. The two undress and Lily performs oral sex on Nina until the latter seemingly drowns her with a pillow. The next morning, Nina wakes up looking for Lily and discovers that she is alone and will be late for rehearsal. When he arrives at the studio, he encounters Lily dancing as the Swan Queen. Furious, she confronts Lily and believing that they are already a couple, she asks why she didn't wake her up that morning. After Lily admits to spending the night with a man she met at the club, Nina realizes that she dreamed of the encounter. Nina's hallucinations become stronger when she sees Thomas and Lily having sex in a backstage area and after visiting Beth in the hospital, decides to stab you in the face with a nail file, the same as Nina then falls bloody hands into the elevator.

Later, he has a violent argument with his mother, after which he passes out. Concerned about Nina's erratic behavior, her mother tries to stop her from giving her opening night presentation; enraged, Nina gets up and leaves the apartment. Thomas tasks Lily with taking over, as Nina's mother called to tell him she was sick, but reluctantly gives up when Nina insists on taking the lead role. The first act goes well, until when Nina is picked up by her dance partner, she is distracted by a hallucination, causing her partner to drop her. Distraught, she returns to her locker room and finds Lily there. Lily informs him that she will play the Black Swan. Furious Nina throws her against a mirror, breaking it.

Lily, seemingly dead, suddenly awakens, and her face changes shape, transforming into another Nina. Her double begins to strangle Nina, who then grabs a piece of mirror and stabs her rival in the stomach, seemingly killing her. His double's face returns to Lily's. Nina hides the body in the bathroom. This action makes Nina feel passion and returns to the stage to dance completely uninhibited.

Nina begins to see black feathers sprouting from her body, her toes begin to gather together like birds, her arms become black wings, and she finally gets lost and turns into a black swan. At the end of the act, he received a standing ovation. Offstage, Thomas and the rest of the cast congratulate her on her impressive performance. Nina catches Thomas by surprise and kisses him. Returning to her dressing room before the final act, Nina is congratulated by Lily, revealing that her fight was, once again, imaginary. The mirror, however, was still in pieces. Nina pulls a small shard from her own body and realizes she stabbed herself. Dancing the last scene, in which the White Swan is thrown off a cliff, Nina discovers her mother's scream in the audience. When Nina falls onto her back on a hidden mattress, the theater erupts in applause. Thomas and the cast meet to congratulate her, only to discover that she is bleeding. As the white overhead lights envelop him, he whispers, "I felt it. Perfect. It was perfect." Meanwhile, Thomas tells the others to call an ambulance, asking them to save Nina.
